The Yotsuki started as several merchant families in the land of lightning a long time ago. Nagasimoto was an established trader and brought many goods to the land of lightning. However riches attract thieves and soon ninja of villages began demanding payment from him to travel and gain protection. In reaction to such atrocious behavior, Nagasimoto studied ninjutsu himself. He was old and learned slowly but found he had two chakra natures at his disposal, water and lightning.

Thus he developed the Storm Release, and molded it to fit his needs. A dazzling display of light and force was enough to deter bandits. Soon other merchant families wished to join his to establish connections and support. Thus the Yotsuki clan was formed, as time went by though they sought more jutsu and training than they did training. They retained immense wealth, but never what they had when the clan had first formed.

Today members within the clan claim different heritage to families within, but all hold a very special bond with one another. Breaking bonds is something nearly unheard of within the clan. Those of the Yotsuki who can't keep their word are often dealt a more severe punishment than other crimes such as stealing. Breaking your own word also comes back to the clan and ruin their credibility.

With Rocore's rise to power as a direct descendant of the now deceased Nagasimoto, the clan has been turning back to its economic roots. Though not at all what it once was, they are dusting off old knowledge and rekindling old friendships in foreign lands. Not just for wealth, but also for information on the other forming villages. The jovial leader of the Yotsuki is a lot more clever than he lets on...
